Our beech splits are a labour of love - we do all the work so you don't have to, splitting them to approximately 1-2 inches thick. They're the perfect size for any large, well-insulated pizza oven, but we also use beech splits when we're cooking on our Asado grill and our firepit. Beech wood is an unbelievable cooking wood, but it has to be very dry to perform to it's full potential so we kiln-dry it to around 15% moisture. It burns clean, smells amazing and creates long-lasting embers - perfect for fire cooking.

Our 25cm pizza oven logs are made from beech and ash and as they're slightly thicker they burn for longer than the splits - so order a mix of the two if you'd like to combine splits with a longer-burning log.

What's in the Box?

Firewood volumes are complex and a lot of suppliers use smoke and mirrors to make you think you're getting more than you are, so we try and be as transparent as possible!

Each delivery will comprise 8 zipped barrow bags, packed with hand-stacked firewood until the sides and top of the bag bulge. The bag dimensions are 40cm x 40cm x 80cm, but once filled the volume is greater as the bags stretch under loading.

We pack directly from loose-filled cubic metre cages, and each bag takes 0.425 cubic metres, so each order is approximately equivalent to 3.4 cubic metres loose firewood. Each bag weighs approximately 90kg so each order is approximately 720kg of beautifully dry firewood.

Delivery

We will despatch pallet orders within 2 working days of order, on an economy delivery service which is usually 2-3 days, but is occasionally overnight. The pallet company will call you to confirm the delivery date with you, and you'll receive tracking on the day of delivery.

The bags are stacked very high and strapped to the pallet using ratchet straps; we recommend you have the appropriate equipment or people power to unload safely, as we can't take responsibility for accidents or injury from unloading.

Please retain the green barrow bags and ratchet straps and let us know when you're ready for them to be collected - we'll send DPD to collect them and you will then receive a discount off your next order. Sometimes our transport companies add plastic pallet wrapping, please feel free to keep this alongside the green bags and pallet straps, and send it back to us for recycling.
